This is the web site of Purple Martin House Plans.

Purple Martin House Plans is a family-owned and operated business that developed out of my love of nature, my interest in Purple Martins, and my talent in woodworking & birdhouse design.

Many of my friends and family came me us asking for help to find a natural way to get rid of mosquitoes, especially because of the West Nile virus threat! Well I know that Purple Martins love to feed on mosquitoes and a colony of Purple Martins can eat up to 2,000 mosquitoes a day! So I decided to show them how to build Purple Martin houses that would get rid of mosquitoes and introduce them to the wonderful world of Purple Martins – thus also helping to restore the Purple Martin population!

I currently offer my own Purple Martin bird house plan that incorporates research on what Purple Martins prefer – and how to keep Purple Martins safe from predators. At this time, all of my business is conducted via my web site and email. I do not currently have a retail storefront or print catalog. I welcome affiliates to help spread the word about my plans and help others enjoy Purple Martin houses.
